This wall tapestry was originally woven in Antwerp in 1640 in the workshop of Jacob Wauters.

The origin is suggested by its colors and border pattern. It is further indicated by the presence in the English royal collection of a five part series woven according to the same cartoons.

The gods in the four corners symbolize the four elements. This tapestry is gorgeous and makes a lovely addition to any home.
