This "Portiere" has been woven for the marquis de Louvois (1641-1691), director of the "Manufacture des Gobelins" in Paris, in a private workshop at the end of the XVII century.

This wall tapestry belongs to the Dario Boccara collection and the original size is 270 x 180 cm. Quite a grand piece.
