It is part of six original tapestries from the Lady with Unicorn Series. This tapestry depicts the sense of taste with a graceful lady surrounded by various animals including a unicorn and a lion, representing purity and strength.
The background is the famous mille fleurs (thousand flowers) which is not only beautiful, but also works to separate the foreground figures from the red background.
